During the Empire State Performance Rally a few weeks back we ran two stages on the track at the Monticello Motor Club. I'd heard the facility was very exclusive and membership was pricy, and between the formidible-yet-decorative iron gate, the landscaping, the complete lack of bleachers (or any place a spectator could sit and watch a race really), the tasteful guardhouse, and the gorgeous clubhouse I had no doubt. But today I finally looked up the cost of membership. Jesus, to think we lapped the track in a terribad Neon that had been rolled on five occasions and still had the body damage to prove it.

Yep, I check every year or so, but it just keeps getting more expensive. It's like 20 minutes from my house! I contemplate buying a membership instead of a supercar when I can afford it.

Solution: buy rally car. Supercar performance and handling plus the ability to drive the track during ESPR

Only three hundred sixty five easy payments of $109.59 a month! Maybe if you just give them a day's worth of membership you can go around the track once... Right.
ESPR was great though, even if the person who flew in (to Monticello Motor Club) a helicopter was major overkill.

Solution is to form an LLC with 100 other people, pay $1750 for the initial fee per person.

I'm seriously thinking rally car during my lifetime after watching all those videos you just put up. Even Neons with a clear hate and distaste for 3rd gear look fun as hell.

Good. They are our amusement. They'll be sent back to the mines when we're through with them.

The only similar place I've been to was Spring Mountain:

I'd hate to think how much it costs for a membership there. They don't even have it posted on their web site. It's one of those "If you have to ask... you probably can't afford it" kind of things.

I was losing my shit as the Ranger was backfiring around this billionaire's playground. So wrong, so right.

Helicopter guy was awesome. I've been using them as my new mental picture of monetary success in life since that day.

I was honestly perplexed for a moment, initially assuming that it was somebody that happened to be in a helicopter, and felt like getting a fantastic birds eye view of some ESPR action. Then it began approaching, and landed. It definitely broadens one's horizons in terms of what one can do in life given a 'can do' attitude, or something of that nature.

They actually let Lemons run two years back I think.
